A Brief History of Romeo Baptist

The Romeo Baptist Church began in 1910 and used Buck Pond School as their facility.

In the early 1920’s they constructed a church about a mile from our current location. It was named Zion Hill Baptist Church and remained that until 1962 when the name was changed back to Romeo Baptist Church.

The church moved back to Buck Pond School when in 1945 it was donated to the church.

In 1979, we broke ground and built our current sanctuary. It was completed in 1980 and dedicated in 1981. The educational wing was completed in 1986. Since then we have added the vestibule and portico.
