It has been a long week, and sometimes the best thing you can do is sit down with some friends, eat a few too many cheese balls, and discover who is surprisingly competitive at Scrabble. That is what tonight’s Family Fun Night is really about: slowing down, laughing together, and enjoying the company of people we worship beside each week but may not yet know very well. Bring a favorite snack to share, and we will play games and spend some time filling backpacks for children in our community. We hope you will come tonight at 6:00 PM, take a breath, and enjoy a relaxed evening with your church family.

This Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, our normal monthly business meeting will be focused entirely on the proposed changes to our church’s Statement of Faith. This will not be a typical business meeting with ministry reports, financial updates, and several different items of business. Instead, we will take our time walking through the proposed statement, explaining why I believe it would be helpful for our church, and answering any questions you may have.

There is no rush to adopt the statement immediately, and the purpose of this meeting is not to force a quick vote. I want everyone to have the opportunity to read it carefully, understand what it says, and raise any questions or concerns. These proposed changes are not intended to move our church in a new theological direction, but to give us a fuller and clearer statement of what we already believe and who we are as a church today. I encourage all of our members to attend and be part of this important conversation.

Upcoming Events

Help Us Fill 50+ Backpacks!

The back-to-school sales are in full swing, which means this is the perfect time to help us stock up on school supplies.

We already have 50+ backpacks ready to give away at our Back to School Bash on Saturday, August 8, but we do not want to hand local families an empty backpack. We would love to fill each one with as many useful supplies as we can.

So while you are at Walmart, Dollar General, or wherever you happen to spot those piles of back-to-school bargains, grab a few extras for the church. Pens, crayons, colored pencils, notebooks, composition books, folders, notebook paper, glue sticks, scissors, erasers, and other basic classroom supplies can all be put to good use.

Just bring what you can. We’ll be filling up the bags tonight but will still accept supplies through Wednesday (8/5), A couple of packs of pencils here and a stack of notebooks there adds up quickly when the whole church joins together.

Back to School Bash – Saturday, August 8th – 9am-Noon

School is almost here, and we are sending summer out with a splash!

Join us on August 8 from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM for a huge Back to School Bash packed with fun for the whole family!

We’ll have a foam party, free hot dogs, chips and drinks, 50+ backpacks filled with school supplies to give away, and Flag Football evaluations and registrations for anyone interested in the upcoming season.

Bring the kids. Bring the neighbors. Invite a friend. Come ready to get wet, eat well, laugh a lot, and help us celebrate the beginning of a brand-new school year! Let’s bless our local families and give our kids a great start to the school year!

I need some volunteers to help inside and outside. We need some folks to work to get lunch ready, and a couple of people to work the backpack table and collect information. Then I need a couple of people to help with the football evaluations out on the field and help with registrations.

Upward Flag Football

We’re excited to be launching Upward Flag Football this fall as a way to serve and connect with families in our community.

  • Our league is open to boys and girls K5 – 5th grade.
  • The cost is $100 per child
  • More than one child? Save an extra $10 on additional registrations.
  • Deadline for registration is 8/22/2026.

Food Pantry Needs

Our food pantry allows us to respond when families in our church and community find themselves facing an unexpected need. While you are at the grocery store, or placing your next pickup/delivery order, please consider adding a few extra shelf-stable items. Canned vegetables, soups, pasta, rice, cereal, peanut butter, canned meat, boxed meals, and other basic staples are always helpful.

A Simple Way to Give Faithfully

Giving is one of the ways we worship the Lord, trust His provision, and support the ministry He has entrusted to our church. Of course, Sunday mornings can be full. Between conversations, children, serving, singing, listening, and getting out the door, it is easy for even good intentions to get crowded out. Through our online giving page, you can give a one-time gift or set up recurring monthly giving. This helps make generosity a steady and prayerful rhythm. Thank you for giving faithfully, generously, and joyfully as we seek to glorify Christ, cultivate holiness, and love generously together.

The Bridge

Last Sunday, we watched the growing demands surrounding Jesus in Mark 1:29–39. He entered Peter and Andrew’s home, healed Peter’s mother-in-law, and by sunset the whole town seemed to be gathered at the door. Everyone wanted something from Him, and by the next morning His disciples were searching for Him with the words, “Everyone is looking for you.”

Jesus refused to let the expectations of the crowd define His mission. Before the sun rose, He withdrew to a quiet place to pray, and from that communion with His Father He continued preaching throughout Galilee. This passage reminded us that even good needs can become overwhelming when we begin living only in response to the loudest voices around us. Jesus was compassionate toward the crowds, but He was not controlled by them.

His strength, direction, and purpose flowed from His relationship with the Father. The same is true for us. We cannot faithfully love our families, serve the church, or care for our neighbors if we are constantly running on empty. We need the quiet place where our hearts are reoriented toward God and where we remember that our first calling is not to please everyone who is looking for us, but to remain faithful to the One who sent us.

This Sunday, the crowd will fade into the background as one desperate man approaches Jesus, a leper who had been pushed outside the ordinary life of the community. He comes with a simple but profound confession: “If you will, you can make me clean.” Jesus does more than heal him from a distance. He reaches out and touches the untouchable.

In Mark 1:40–45, we will see the compassion of Christ, the power of His cleansing, and the remarkable exchange that follows: the man who had been confined to lonely places is restored, while Jesus is forced out into the wilderness. Come ready to see how the Holy One draws near to the unclean and makes them whole.

Weekly Life Together

Wednesday Night Dinner, Kids, and Prayer

Join us each Wednesday evening as we gather for a shared family meal and time together.

Sunday Morning Bible Study and Worship

Sundays at 9:30am is our Bible Study hour. From children to adults, each class is focused on helping us grow in understanding of God’s word and encouraging one another to live out our faith.

Then at 10:45am, we come together for corporate worship as one body. Our aim is simple: to humble ourselves before the throne of Jesus our King and to joyfully worship Him side by side as families. Kids and adults all share in this time as we sit under the same truth and fix our eyes on Christ together.

Breaking Bread Groups

Throughout the week, we gather in homes to discuss God’s Word and to pray for each other as we do life together. We currently have groups that meet on Sunday afternoons, as well as Tuesday and Thursday nights. If you are interested in joining or starting a group, please talk to someone in leadership.
