What’s Happening – August 7, 2026
This Saturday, by God’s grace, our church property will be filled with children playing, families laughing, backpacks being handed out, and neighbors we may have never met before. The Back to School Bash is going to be a fun morning, but it is about much more than foam, food, football, and school supplies. It is an opportunity to step outside our normal circles and show the love of Christ to the people God has placed around us.
For some families, this may be their first interaction with Redeemer Baptist Church. Long before they hear one of our sermons or attend one of our Bible studies, they may form an impression of our church through the way they are welcomed, served, and included this Saturday. A friendly conversation, help carrying a bag, an invitation to join a game, or simply taking the time to learn someone’s name can communicate that they are not merely visitors at our event, they are neighbors whom we genuinely want to know and love.
So please do more than attend. Come ready to participate. Look for someone you have not met. Invite a friend, coworker, neighbor, or family member to join us. Help us make this a day when our community experiences the generosity, kindness, and hospitality of Christ through His people. We are not simply trying to host a successful church event. We are asking God to use us to open doors, build relationships, and help our neighbors know that there is a church here that sees them, cares for them, and would be glad to welcome them into our lives.
Upcoming Events

Back to School Bash – This Saturday, August 8th – 9am-Noon
Free fun for the whole family!
We’ll have a foam party, free hot dogs, chips and drinks, 50+ backpacks filled with school supplies to give away, and Flag Football evaluations and registrations for anyone interested in the upcoming season.
I still need some volunteers to help inside and outside. We need some folks to work to get lunch ready, and a couple of people to work the backpack table and collect information. Then I need a couple of people to help with the football evaluations out on the field and help with registrations.

Upward Flag Football
We’re excited to be launching Upward Flag Football this fall as a way to serve and connect with families in our community.
- Our league is open to boys and girls K5 – 5th grade.
- The cost is $100 per child
- More than one child? Save an extra $10 on additional registrations.
- Deadline for registration is 8/22/2026.
Want to Coach, Referee, or just volunteer to help make this season great? Sign up here!
Pray that this becomes not just a sports league, but a bridge for relationships and gospel conversations.
Food Pantry Needs
Our food pantry allows us to respond when families in our church and community find themselves facing an unexpected need. While you are at the grocery store, or placing your next pickup/delivery order, please consider adding a few extra shelf-stable items. Canned vegetables, soups, pasta, rice, cereal, peanut butter, canned meat, boxed meals, and other basic staples are always helpful.
Ladies Monthly Bible Study – Tuesday, August 18th at 6pm
Life has a way of filling every available space. Between work, family, church, responsibilities, and the constant pull of our phones, many of us feel tired before the day has even begun. This month, our ladies are beginning a study through Crazy Busy by Kevin DeYoung, a practical and encouraging book about the dangers of a hurried life and the peace that comes from putting our priorities back in their proper place.
This will be more than a book discussion. It will be an opportunity to slow down, enjoy fellowship, and encourage one another as we learn to live with greater purpose, wisdom, and dependence on Christ. All ladies are invited to join, even if your schedule already feels a little crazy busy!
Fifth Sunday Potluck Dinner on the Grounds – August 30th after the Morning Worship Service
Mark your calendar and plan to stay after the morning worship service for our Fifth Sunday Dinner on the Grounds! These meals are a wonderful opportunity to slow down, share a table, and enjoy time with the church family beyond our usual Sunday morning conversations.
Come ready for good food, warm fellowship, and the chance to get to know someone a little better. Whether you have been part of Redeemer for years or have only recently begun attending, we would love for you to join us!
A Simple Way to Give Faithfully
Giving is one of the ways we worship the Lord, trust His provision, and support the ministry He has entrusted to our church. Of course, Sunday mornings can be full. Between conversations, children, serving, singing, listening, and getting out the door, it is easy for even good intentions to get crowded out. Through our online giving page, you can give a one-time gift or set up recurring monthly giving. This helps make generosity a steady and prayerful rhythm. Thank you for giving faithfully, generously, and joyfully as we seek to glorify Christ, cultivate holiness, and love generously together.

The Bridge
Last Sunday, we watched Jesus do what no one else would dare to do: He reached out and touched a man covered with leprosy. Rather than the man’s uncleanness spreading to Jesus, the holiness of Jesus spread to the man. His diseased skin was made clean in an instant. Yet as remarkable as that healing was, the man’s disobedience afterward reminded us that a changed body does not necessarily mean a changed heart. Jesus had removed the visible effects of the fall, but the man still needed something deeper.

This week, four friends will carry a paralyzed man to Jesus and lower him through the roof. Everyone in the crowded house can see what is wrong with him. His body is broken, and he cannot walk. Yet Jesus does not begin with the obvious problem. Before He touches the man’s paralysis, He speaks to the deeper need that no one else can see: “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Then Jesus allows those words to hang in the air while everyone considers what He has just claimed the authority to do.
Those words will also produce the first real conflict between Jesus and the religious leaders in Mark’s Gospel. They rightly understand that only God can forgive sins, but they fail to consider what that means about the man standing before them. And, for the first time in Mark, Jesus will call Himself the “Son of Man,” connecting His authority to the promised King of Daniel 7. This Sunday, we will consider why Jesus addressed forgiveness before healing, what His title reveals about His identity, and the question He placed before everyone in the room: Which is easier?

Sunday Morning Bible Study and Worship
Sundays at 9:30am is our Bible Study hour. From children to adults, each class is focused on helping us grow in understanding of God’s word and encouraging one another to live out our faith.
Then at 10:45am, we come together for corporate worship as one body. Our aim is simple: to humble ourselves before the throne of Jesus our King and to joyfully worship Him side by side as families. Kids and adults all share in this time as we sit under the same truth and fix our eyes on Christ together.
Breaking Bread Groups
Throughout the week, we gather in homes to discuss God’s Word and to pray for each other as we do life together. We currently have groups that meet on Sunday afternoons, as well as Tuesday and Thursday nights. If you are interested in joining or starting a group, please talk to someone in leadership.
At Redeemer Baptist Church our mission is to Glorify Jesus by Growing in Holiness and Loving Generously. Please leave a quick Google review and like or follow us on social media. It’s a small thing that helps more people in our community find us.
